I am open to learning from anywhere. Lessons can come from the most unlikely places. My two sons spent some time with family friends summer of 2013 where they went on a marathon of watching all three seasons of the anim\u00e9<\/span> show Avatar:\u00a0 The Last Airbender<\/strong><\/em> in two days. They returned home with enthusiasm that they now wanted to repeat the marathon with me. They predicted that I would like the show. \"10329877_786286368083030_1179768191775060625_o\"<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They were very right… <\/span>However, <\/span>I was not up for the marathon pace<\/em> – over two days. I have always felt that marathons are <\/span>to feed<\/span> the Ego. <\/span>My Ego is\/was alive and well but not needing to perform marathons.<\/span> I loved<\/strong> watching the series 2-4 episodes at a time \u2013 they were 23 minutes each on Netflix:\u00a0 no commercials, Yeah! So we dug into it. <\/span>The newest<\/span> bedtime ritual <\/span>was formed<\/span>. Matched very well to the Twilight Zone<\/em><\/strong> stylings of summer time usage. My family and I can truly kick back in the supreme. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I was particularly blown away by Season 2, Episode 19. It was part 1 of the 2 part season finale. Titled The Guru<\/em><\/strong>, it did not disappoint. I recall the initial enthusiasm from my two sons. T<\/span>hey were certain that I would love the Guru Patik. In Episode 19, he taught Ang, the hero, the Avatar, everything about Chakras. Despite this being a children’s anim<\/span>\u00e9<\/span> series, the storyline matches my own understanding of energy and the Chakras. I use different names for each Chakra but here is where fiction and nonfiction overlap. The simplicity of the explanation seemed unmatched. I enthusiastically shared the episode from You Tube – love when the clip you want is there – onto first my personal Facebook Page and then the Beautiful Truth page. Within a day, I realize that I have the strongest urge to transcribe it. I am never quite sure who I am transcribing it for but have come to just go with it when these urges present themselves. I always trust this as me recognizing wisdom. …<\/span>And just being myself. <\/span> It does not happen all that often, but when it does, I thoroughly enjoy the process. Like all things, the more you do it, the more proficient you become at it. <\/span>I love transcribing wisdom from within a video, a song, a conversation or wherever…<\/span><\/p>\n

Avatar Episode 19 (Season 2) The Guru<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You must gain balance within yourself before you can bring balance to the world.\u00a0 <\/b>My addition:\u00a0 This IS the Beautiful Truth!
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In order to master the Avatar state, you must open all<\/b> the Chakras.<\/p>\n

…We will start with the basics.<\/p>\n

The water flows through this creek much like the energy flows through your body. As you see, there are several pools where the water swirls around before flowing on. These pools are like our Chakras. (Ang asks: So Chakras are pools of spiraling energy in our bodies?) Exactly.\"10343511_761765673855099_4529677669855178619_n\"<\/a><\/p>\n

If nothing else were around, this creek would flow pure and clear.<\/p>\n

However, life is messy and things tend to fall in the creek.<\/p>\n

Ang: \u201cAnd then what happens?\u201d<\/p>\n

The creek can’t flow.
\nBut if we open the paths between the pools, the energy flows!<\/p>\n

There are seven Chakras that go up the body.<\/p>\n

Each pool of energy has a purpose and can be blocked by a specific kind of emotional muck.<\/p>\n

Behold, opening the Chakras is an intense experience.<\/p>\n

And once you begin this process, you cannot stop until all seven are open.<\/p>\n

Are you ready?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First we will open the Earth Chakra<\/strong> (1st or Root Chakra<\/strong> in my world), located at the base of the spine.<\/p>\n

What are you most afraid of?<\/p>\n

Let your fears become clear.<\/p>\n

Ang, your vision is not real. You are concerned for your survival.<\/p>\n

But you must S<\/b>urrender those <\/b>F<\/b>ears.\"10351684_799744890066002_4284731567179803638_n\"<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

Let your fears flow down the creek.<\/p>\n

You have opened your Earth Chakra.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Next, is the Water Chakra<\/strong>. (2nd or Sacral Chakra<\/strong> in my world).<\/p>\n

Now, look at all the guilt that burdens you so.<\/p>\n

What do you blame yourself for?<\/p>\n

Accept the reality that these things happened.<\/p>\n

But do not let them cloud and poison your energy.<\/p>\n

If you are to be a positive influence on the world, you need to Forgive yourself<\/b>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That is the Fire Chakra<\/strong> (3rd or Solar Plexus Chakra<\/strong> in my world), located in the stomach.<\/p>\n

This Chakra deals with Willpower <\/b>and is blocked by<\/b> Shame<\/b>.\"10489871_493361247476895_2392042184751087298_n\"<\/a><\/p>\n

What are you ashamed of?<\/p>\n

What are your biggest disappointments in yourself?<\/p>\n

(Avatar recalls burning Katara accidentally while practicing firebending. He declares that he will never firebend again. \u201cNever say never\u201d a golden rule for me.)<\/p>\n

You will never find balance if you deny this part of your life.<\/p>\n

You are the Avatar and, therefore, you are a firebender.<\/p>\n

That Chakra opened less like a flowing creek and more like a burping Bison. (Burping, among other earthly phenomenon, is known to accompany clearing out energy…)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The fourth Chakra<\/strong> (Heart Chakra<\/strong> in my world) is located in the Heart.<\/p>\n

\"547086_399911856730356_606981168_n\"<\/a>It deals with Love<\/b> and is blocked by Grief.<\/b><\/p>\n

Lay all your grief out in front of you.<\/p>\n

You have indeed felt a great loss.<\/p>\n

But love is a form of energy, and it swirls all around us.<\/p>\n

The air nomad’s love for you has not left this world.<\/p>\n

It is still inside of your heart and is reborn in the form of new love.<\/p>\n

Let the pain flow away. Very good.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 5th<\/strong> in the chain is the Sound Chakra<\/strong> (Throat Chakra<\/strong> in my world), located in the throat.\"10582790_708048835911691_4968872942962703228_o\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It deals with Truth <\/b>and is blocked by Lies<\/b>: the ones we tell ourselves.<\/p>\n

You cannot lie about your own nature.<\/p>\n

You must accept that you are the Avatar.<\/p>\n

Very good, Ang. You have opened the Chakra of Truth<\/em>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 6th<\/strong> pool of energy is the Light Chakra<\/strong> (Brow Chakra<\/strong> in my world), located in the centre of the forehead.<\/p>\n

It deals with I<\/b>nsight<\/b> and is blocked by <\/b>I<\/b>llusion.<\/b><\/p>\n

The greatest illusion of this world is the illusion of separation.<\/p>\n

Things you think are separate and different are actually one and the same.<\/p>\n

(\u201cLike the four nations\u201d says the Avatar \u2013 water, earth, air & fire in the show).<\/p>\n

We are all one people but we live as if divided.<\/p>\n

Ang: \u201cWe’re all connected.<\/b><\/p>\n

Everything is connected.\u201d<\/p>\n

That’s right. Even the separation of the four elements is an illusion.<\/p>\n

If you open your mind, you will see that all of the elements are one: four parts of the same whole.<\/p>\n

Even metal is just a part of earth that has been purified and refined.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Once you open this last Chakra, you will be able to go in and out of the Avatar state at will.\"1383120_10152271588396296_244655137720390732_n\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And when you are in the Avatar state, you will have complete control and awareness of all your actions.<\/p>\n

The Thought Chakra<\/strong> (7th or Crown Chakra<\/strong> in my world) is located at the crown of the head.<\/p>\n

It deals with pure Cosmic Energy<\/b> and is blocked by <\/b>E<\/b>arthly <\/b>A<\/b>ttachment<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Meditate on what attaches you to this world.<\/p>\n

Let them flow down the river… forgotten.<\/p>\n

(Avatar asks, \u201cWhy would I let go of Katara? I love her.\u201d)<\/p>\n

Learn to let her go or you cannot let the pure cosmic energy flow in from the Universe.<\/p>\n

(Avatar: \u201cWhy would I choose cosmic energy over Katara? How could it be a bad thing that I feel an attachment to her? Three Chakras ago that was a good thing!\u201d)<\/p>\n

You must learn to Let Go!<\/b><\/p>\n

Ang declares, \u201cI can’t Let Go of Katara!\u201d<\/p>\n

To master the Avatar state you must open all<\/b> the Chakras.<\/p>\n

Surrender yourself..<\/p>\n

Ang, \u201cOK, I’ll try\u201d\u00a0 (Yoda would say, \u201cDo or Do not. There is no Try\u201d)\"1969251_716823118359179_4529472601028105403_n\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now think of your attachments and Let them Go.<\/p>\n

Let the pure cosmic energy flow.<\/p>\n

(Ang joins with his higher Self….and then senses Katara is in trouble. He chooses to hang on to Katara and runs away.)<\/p>\n

No Ang. By choosing attachment, you have blocked the Chakra.<\/p>\n

If you leave now, you will not go into the Avatar state at all.\u00a0 End transcription<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

My words: I am with Ang.\u00a0 Letting go of\u00a0all<\/strong> attachments.\u00a0 Is it really required?\u00a0 Guess that is why I am not in my Avatar state (self-actualized state).\u00a0 My latest guru, or teacher, Matt Kahn emphasized that it may be a more effective strategy to soften your grip<\/b> rather than letting go<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 More approachable somehow.<\/p>\n

\"10405551_802707826440884_6798012713837037025_n\"<\/a>My idea:\u00a0 Attempting to Let Go of things dear to us can create an energy that works against our highest evolution sometimes. Too much action. Not enough allowing what is. Love<\/b> the concept of softening my grip \u2026 on whatever.\u00a0 As you continue to soften your grip, in its own time, it will fall out of your hand so to speak.\u00a0 Anything destined for you will not be kept from you.\u00a0 Things not meant for you will fall away.\u00a0 I find great comfort in this perspective.\u00a0 Strong connection to your highest and truest version of yourself will allow the clarity to determine which it is in any given moment.\u00a0 If you are unsure … embrace uncertainty<\/strong>.\u00a0 So easy …don’t ya think?<\/p>\n
